World champion Jaan Roose balancers over the snow -covered slackline in Reutte
An exciting spectacle recently took place in Reutte when the world champion in slacklines, Jaan Roose, offered an impressive performance on the highline. The 32-year-old athlete balanced at a dizzying 130 meters over a slim slackline that spans the majestic castle walls. With a length of 405 meters, the Slackline combined the Ehrenberg Castle and the Falkenberg - a truly breathtaking adventure.
The preparations for this event, which was initiated by architect Armin Walch, the managing director of the Burgenwelt Ehrenberg, and the tourist kitchen in Reutte and Red Bull, were comprehensive and provided great interest among the spectators. Originally announced for 5:30 p.m., there were delays due to strong wind and snowfall. But then, especially when the situation relaxed, Roose appeared on time and ventured into the deep snow -covered adventure.

Jaan Roose's passion for the slackline began at the age of 18. During this time he took part in the "King of Slackline" video competition and achieved second place with a plaster bone. His remarkable commitment and impressive skills finally led him to take place, which went into the history books, such as his crossing of the Messina Messina and finally the slackline crossing of the Bosphorus in Istanbul.
However, the challenge in Reutte was a very special one. The adverse conditions with temperatures in the minus area, a icy slackline and the restricted view from the snow flower demand Roose. Running on such a narrow band is more difficult than you think, and the increasing slope of the slackline in the middle brought additional difficulties. Despite all the complications, the world champion mastered the route within about 30 minutes, without a single fall, and demonstrated remarkable control.
Approximately 200 spectators were able to watch the Bravour piece, while DJ Instyle provided musical entertainment. The event took place as part of the opening ceremony of "Lumagica", a spectacular light park that was already a guest in Reutte for the third year in a row. For the spectators there was the opportunity to experience the event from different points, be it from the Gruselburg or from the Redbull Partytruck. There they were able to experience the breathtaking performance up close and enjoy the special atmosphere that such an event brings.
In an interview, Roose stated that the level of difficulty of this challenge was on a scale from 0 to 10 at "Elf". "The cold feet, the icy slackline and the bad view were immense challenges," said the world champion. Due to the circumstances, he ultimately chose the safer way back over the Highline179, instead of covering the difficult path.
The event was not only a sporting event, but also a demonstration of the courage and the skills of an exceptional athlete. The spectators who were careful despite the cold were visibly impressed by Roose's performance. Such events not only bring thrills, but also show how challenging extreme sport can be.
