Practice day Dementia in Reutte: Together against the challenges in everyday life

On September 27th, the "Practice Day Dementia - Modify everyday life" took place in the Reutte Chamber of Commerce, which met with lively interest. Over 60 participants, including those affected, relatives and curious people, came together to find out about the topic of dementia and to clarify relevant questions with experts. The exchange about such topics makes a decisive contribution to raising awareness of society.

The challenge of dementia

According to high calculations, more than 13,000 people are affected in Tyrol, which corresponds to around 600 people in the Reutte district. These figures illustrate the urgency to deal with the disease and to take preventive measures in good time. The practical lectures in small groups dealt with various aspects of life with dementia. Topics such as social and notarial questions as well as communication strategies were discussed here. The participants also had the opportunity to get advice from regional organizations at information stands and to get into conversation with experts.

The practice day is organized as a joint project in which several institutions are involved, including the State Institute for Integrated Tyo care, Tyrol Clinics and the initiative "Dementia needs competence". Local facilities such as the Haus Ehrenberg residential and nursing home, the BKH Reutte and the Haus Seniorenzentrum Zum Guten Shepherd also support the initiative. Special thanks went to the Sparkasse Reutte and the Chamber of Commerce, who have been accompanying and promoting the event for years.

The broad commitment of the supporters shows how important it is to put the topic of dementia on the agenda and to promote dialogue about it.
