The Scholli in danger: Höfen fights for his traditional lift
In the small town of Höfe, a recently made decision by the Reutte tourism association ensures great unrest. The Schollenwiesenlift, lovingly called "Scholli", which has made it easier for ski catchers to learn over generations, remains closed this year - and possibly forever. This message came directly from chairman Hermann Ruepp and triggered concern with the residents.
The reason for the closure is the considerable financial loss of 30,000 to 40,000 euros annually, which the tourism association would no longer want to bear. Instead, one plans a one -time payment for a new Babylift at the valley station of the Reutten cable cars, which comes across a little understanding among the residents of Höfe. Mayor Rüdiger Reyman expressed his grief about the loss of the Schollenwiesenlift, which is a significant connection between beginners and the more demanding slopes of the Hahnenkamm.
future plans and investments
The rumors about an upcoming snow -making system in Höfe give the situation an additional dimension. This system could cost about one million euros, half of which would be borne by a special funding pot for small and small ski areas in the country. Despite the country's promise, the question of financial feasibility, especially for the municipality with its tense budget.
safe finances for the association
The financial scope of the tourism association seemed pleasant at first glance. With a credit of around 1.6 million euros on the bank, the combination of community commitment and nationwide help should make the necessary steps to build the new facilities. Nevertheless, the association is unwilling to invest in the Schollenwiesenlift, which reduces the community's hopes for a rethink.
The lift is currently on the brink for the winter of 2024/25, since the contractual binding of the TVB to the Schollenwiesenlift acts like a double -edged sword. Even if you are contractually bound to the agreements by June 30, 2027, Reyman is frustrated about the current situation: "Then we will be where we are in two years."
But the mayor does not want to give up. He is optimistic that a rethink within the tourism association could take place in order to save the Schollenwiesenlift. "The lift needs our children, but also the guests," said Reyman. There is a desire to build on this tradition and continue to preserve the Schollenwiesenlift, provided the support from the tourism association and the necessary investments are guaranteed.
The situation remains tense. Despite all the challenges, the mayor wants to continue fighting, even if the plaice lift is "counted", as it formulated. It remains to be seen whether an agreement and a sustainable solution can be found in order to preserve one of the most famous attractions in Höfe.
