In the picturesque Defereggental, surrounded by the majestic Alps, the Gasthaus Oberweissen Hittl is opening a new summer festival series on June 1st. Monika and Maria Kleinlercher created the event called “Sunntig Noumittog Znochtsn” to delight visitors with entertainment and culinary delicacies. The summer festivals take place on Sundays June 1st, July 13th, August 3rd and September 14th from 3 p.m. and offer an atmospheric atmosphere with music by DJ Hase.

The inn, which is open continuously until October 5, 2025, invites visitors to enjoy the warm cuisine. This is available daily between 12 p.m. and 2 p.m. and from 5:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. A special highlight are the barbecue evenings, which take place every Thursday from 6 p.m., regardless of the number of guests.

The region lies in one of the most beautiful natural landscapes in the Alps and has been largely spared from mass tourism. A variety of summer and winter sports activities can be found here, including skiing and cross-country skiing on 70 km of groomed trails or hiking to the historically important Jagdhausalm at an altitude of 2,000 m, which was first mentioned in documents in the 11th century. The impressive mountain scenery in the Hohe Tauern National Park captivates nature lovers and hikers.

The East Tyrolean population is characterized not only by their hospitality, but also by their rich culinary traditions. Regional specialties such as dumplings, Schlipfkrapfen and Pregel are a must for every visitor.
