Last Saturday, a special honorary ceremony took place in Waidring, which gave the community the opportunity to recognize four personalities for their outstanding contributions. The festive event was held at the Hotel Sendlhof and attracted many local guests.
The ceremony offered a celebratory setting to celebrate the achievements of Gabriele M. Grundschober, Peter Baumgartner, Dr. Manfred Klema and Christian Foidl to celebrate. Mayor Georg Hochfilzer, GR Veronika Widmoser and Deputy Mayor Gottfried Flatscher were the honorees who presented the honorees with certificates, awards and rings.
The honorees in detail
Gabriele M. Grundschober, known as Sister Barbara, received the decoration for her many years of commitment to the parish and senior citizens. Despite her retirement, she has continued to play an active role in working with various clubs in the community.
Peter Baumgartner was honored for his achievements in sports and his commitment to local clubs. As a former center forward and official at SK Waidring, he made a significant contribution to the club's development. His role in the veterans association is unforgettable; He joined in 1974 and took over as chairman in 1992 before being appointed honorary captain in 2019.
Dr. Manfred Klema, who practiced in Waidring until his retirement in June 2023, was also honored. His work in the medical profession as well as his involvement in the fire department and mountain rescue show his connection to the community.
The highest award, the Ring of Honor, was awarded to Christian Foidl, who held management positions at Steinbacher Insulating Materials from 1978 until his retirement. His political career began in 1986 when he joined the local council. From 2004 to 2016 he was deputy mayor and implemented numerous important projects for the community. He has also been involved in Raiffeisenbank for 35 years and is an active member of the music band and the sports club.
Mayor Hochfilzer emphasized the importance of such honors: "Those who deserve recognition should receive it. It is a happy occasion for us to thank deserving individuals for their great commitment and services to the community and to award them." This honorary ceremony brought a lot of joy not only to those honored, but also to the community in Waidring.
