Skiensation in Kitzbühel: Can Austrians dominate the race?
In an exciting competition, the athletes impressively faced the weather and the treacherous conditions at the alpine world skiing races in La Thuile and Kitzbühel. In La Thuile, the Austrian Sophie Aicher performed impressive achievements and won the Super-G. "I just tried to let the skis run," she said after her unexpected success, which made her a "mad talent", as Christina Ager noted. In the middle of the challenges on the slopes, which was characterized by rain and snow, Aicher was able to assert itself and made it clear that in the future she would like to continue in all disciplines, like vienna.at reported.
Swiss cracks in slalom
At the same time, the Swiss also did their best at the slalom in Kitzbühel. Tanguy Nef drove to the excellent seventh place and thus became the best Swiss. Clément Noël celebrated his fourth win of the season in this race and took the lead in discipline rating. The Frenchman recorded a masterpiece and prevailed with a tenth of a second ahead of Alex Vinatzer from South Tyrol. Daniel Yule followed little behind Nef in eleven, while Loïc Meillard left after a driving error, such as BlueWin.ch held.
The conditions in Kitzbühel were not easy, but despite the weather that worsened during the race, the athletes performed remarkable achievements. NEF and Yule narrowly missed the podium, which increased their disappointment with the past placements. "Too little risk, too little eggs," commented Yule frustrated his course, while the entire Swiss team continued to hire to hope for better results.
