Sport Austria Finals in Innsbruck: A celebration of exercise and medals!

The Sport Austria Finals 2025 will take place in Innsbruck and Tyrol. The opening ceremony is planned for Wednesday evening, June 18th, in front of the Tyrolean State Theater. Pop star Rian will appear on the main stage and perform hits such as “Verwandschaftstreffen”. After the concert, visitors can expect an Ö3 disco in the open air. The event runs from Thursday to Sunday and offers the opportunity to experience the athletes up close. A total of over 6,500 athletes will compete for state championship titles in 37 different sports.

Around 250 medal decisions will be on the program over the course of the event. The organizers, including ASKÖ, ASVÖ and SPORTUNION, offer spectators free entry to all competitions and the supporting program. The President of Sport Austria, Hans Niessl, emphasizes the importance of this event, which is intended to give small sports a big stage. The aim is to bring many people into contact with sport and to celebrate a festival of sport.

A wide range of sports and supporting programs

The Sport Austria Finals offer a wide range of sports, including climbing, cross triathlon, cheerleading, taekwondo, boccia, skateboarding, softball, open water swimming as well as kick and Thai boxing. The competitions take place at a total of 25 locations in Innsbruck and the surrounding area, including the Olympiaworld, the Innsbruck climbing center, the Tivoli outdoor pool and many more.

In addition to the competition, there is a colorful supporting program at the Landestheater forecourt. Mini golf, push competitions run by the bobsleigh and skeleton associations as well as the Decathlon participation days on Friday and Saturday (June 20th & 21st) offer an exercise zone for young and old. Here visitors can get active and take part in various activities such as mini table tennis, ninja parkour, spikeball and climbing with professionals.

Support for sports infrastructure

The Sport Austria Finals are part of a larger plan in the government program 2020-2024, which aims to support major international sporting events in Austria. This initiative emphasizes cooperation with federal states and sports associations to strengthen Austria's role as a host country. In addition, financial resources are defined and the development of sustainable sports infrastructure is promoted. The focus is also on the effects on the development of the sport and the prospects of success for Austrian athletes.

The event aims to not only encourage enthusiasm for the sport, but also highlight positive economic impacts and contribute to an active, healthy population. Such events strengthen the basis for future major sporting events in Austria. The Sport Austria Finals are a central part of this strategy, which focuses not only on sport, but also on social interaction.
