Sculpture LOVE HATE: A sign for peace and tolerance in Innsbruck
There has been a new attraction in Innsbruck since October 1st: the sculpture LOVE HATE by the artist Mia Florentine Weiss. This impressive art installation conveys a meaningful message about the complex feelings of love and hate that are often the focus of current social debates. The artist, who originated in Berlin, wants to make a contribution to peace, tolerance and acceptance with her work.
The sculpture, which has been seen in cities such as Washington, Chicago, Berlin and Munich, consists of a fascinating ambigram that combines the words “Love” and “Hate”. Previously it was directly connected to the Golden Roof, but has now found its new location in the inner courtyard of Ambras Castle, where it can be admired until March 2025.
The dialogue of emotions
The transportation and installation of the sculpture took place recently. Now LOVE HATE is not only available as a photo motif, but also encourages you to think about the double-edged nature of these strong emotions. As an example of this year's special exhibition in the castle, which deals with the topic of diversity, a bridge is built between art and social issues. Under the motto “Borders are overcome with art in order to connect people,” the artist underlines the relevance of her work.
The exhibition, which addresses the question of humanity and community, is open until October 6, 2024. However, the sculpture itself will remain on site for a longer period of time and will therefore become an integral part of the Innsbruck art scene.
