ShuHaRi Karate Kematen shines with 49 medals at the Mastercup!
The ShuHaRi karate club from Kematen once again demonstrated its class at this year's Mastercup in Innsbruck. At this important tournament, which is considered a friendly competition between Tyrol and Vorarlberg, 31 athletes of all age groups and belt levels from 8 to 40 years old took part. The club showcased an impressive diversity of talent and achievements.
The participants contributed to the ShuHaRi karate club achieving a total of 49 medals, including 16 gold, 18 silver and 15 bronze. This secured the club first place in the club rankings, well ahead of the other competitors: Rum with eight medals and Innsbruck with seven medals did not come close to the achievements of the Kematers.
Awards for young talents
The performance of the youngest karateka was particularly pleasing. The 9-year-old Lorenz Anker was able to achieve an impressive triple success in the yellow belt category for 8 to 11 year olds by winning gold medals in all three disciplines - kata, kumite and team kata. This outstanding performance shows the potential that the young athletes have.
Another highlight were the performances of eight-year-old Finja Anich from Oberperfuss. She refused to be intimidated and won two gold medals and one silver medal in her age group. Their achievements underscore that age is no barrier to excellence in karate.
