A disturbing incident occurred in Tyrol when a dust avalanche occurred below the Hafelekar mountain station on December 25th. This led to a large contingent of rescue workers, as it was initially unclear whether a group of ten people had been affected by snow breakers. Fortunately, after an intensive search, the all-clear was finally given, but three people were swept away by the avalanche and partially buried. While one person was taken to hospital with minor injuries to the chest and knee area, the Tyrol State Police Department reported a total of seven people were involved in the avalanche accident. Collision in the ski area

In a separate incident, a dramatic collision occurred in a ski resort when a 19-year-old man from Pirna (Saxony) and an 8-year-old girl from Trier (Rhineland-Palatinate) collided. The young man sustained serious injuries, while the child was only slightly injured. After emergency medical first aid, the 19-year-old was flown to the university clinic in Innsbruck with the “Heli3” rescue helicopter, and the girl was taken to the St. Johann Hospital in Tyrol with “Heli1”.
