A beer jug on hand: my self -experiment at the Oktoberfest

Munich-An exciting experiment recently took place in the Löwenbräu festival at the Oktoberfest. The challenge? Explore how many beer mugs an untrained person can actually wear, given the impressive performance of the Oktoberfest operations, which often balance several jugs from table to table at the same time. How difficult are these beer mugs and what technology do you need to successfully transport them?

Verena Angermaier, who went viral last year, managed to wear incredible 13 mass jugs at the same time. This performance aroused interest and courage to accept such a challenge. A measure of mass weighs about two kilograms filled with beer - a considerable weight if you have to carry several of them over hours. To find out what it feels like, a young woman dared to self -experiment.

a first look at the technology

In the Löwenbräu marquee, Stefan, an experienced service, was able to receive the inexperienced tips. Stefan said that the right handle technique is important: "Men usually use the middle, ring and small fingers to raise the first three jugs while taking their thumbs and index fingers for the following three," he explained. Women, on the other hand, would rather pack the jugs with their whole hand. By practicing with empty jugs, the young lady was able to refine her technology, whereby the men's technique seemed more stable.

After some familiarization time, it was time to make serious. It should be six mass jugs, and with Steffen's help, the former test subject managed to master this challenge. The arrangement of the jugs was reliably explained to her so that she could preserve the balance while wearing.

The big challenge: six jugs

It started with a start: the jugs were filled and taken in the right hand, while the left hand served to stabilize. The young woman followed Stefan, who navigated quickly through the crowd. It was an exciting undertaking in which she not only had to concentrate on the jugs, but also on the crowd around her and not to stumble.

To her delight, she was able to park the six jugs unscathed. Success gave her not only a feeling of relief, but also an increased awareness of the hard work of the waitresses. "This is just the beginning," said Stefan, while they looked around after their first experience. "You get used to wearing, even if it remains challenging." Her muscles were noticeably tangible, but respect for the waitresses was only up to after this test.

The possibility of being part of these experiences in the Löwenbräu festival tent offers visitors a new perspective on the effort behind the Oktoberfest. In a funny and educational manner, it became clear how demanding and exhausting the everyday life of the Oktoberfest operations actually is, which was also impressively recorded by the experiment in the video.
