Jazz autumn 2024: Five festivals invite you to the sound experience in autumn

Autumn not only change temperatures, the musical sounds also take on a new momentum, because the jazz season has started. At the moment there are five festivals of diversity in the city and country that captivate jazz lovers.

This is how the organizers in the Gastein Valley receive the guests for this year's edition of the Jazz autumn festival in the sawmill under the title "Lirico". This musical event promises to be a pleasure, accompanying a fashionable brunch in the Hotel Miramonte in Bad Gastein. The line-up is impressive: Among other things, the accordionist Luciano Biondini, sitar player Klaus Falschlunger and Tabla player Niti biswas appear. The Canadian clarinetist Virginia McDonald and her trumpeter colleague Stephane Belmondo are also expected.

In Innsbruck, the Tonarttirol Festival for Contemporary jazz brings a breath of fresh air into the scene. Here newcomers and established musicians meet to show their skills. The saxophonist Yvonne Moriel, the trio puls from Andi Tauschs and the twelve -member Sam Siefert Ensemble Project have planned their appearances in the greenhouse.

Salzburg becomes a stage, in special places such as the college church and the Mirabellgarten. The festival has the motto "Music Unlimited" this year, which means that sounds beyond jazz will also be heard. Among other things, well-known jazz artists like Harold López-Nussa and the Finnish harpist Aino Peltomaa appear.

South Styria is jazzy

The 16th edition of the Ljuben/Jazz love festival takes place in southern Styria. Jazz is celebrated in eight different locations for a whole month. Jazz Manouche from the Italian Maurizio Geri swing or the entertaining "Bumschakabumtrara" by double bass player Georg Breinschmid promise a varied program.

and not to forget that the Graz Festival autumn -timeless is opened on the last day of October and invites you to Moserhofgasse until November. Initiator and musician Berndt Luef invited Angela Tröndle & Pippi Corvino and the Oser Steinrück Quartet for the start. Autumn is therefore evident from its musical diverse side, and the music ensures that the cool wind is better to endure.
