Innsbruck launches TEAM MOBIL for children: support for families in kindergarten
The pilot project “TEAM MOBIL for children” is being introduced in the municipal kindergartens of Innsbruck to support families, educators and especially the children. The concept was developed by the city of Innsbruck together with the Office for Children, Youth and Generations and aims to create a contact point that offers relevant help at the elementary levels. This three-year project has the potential to significantly relieve parents of their parenting, health and financial challenges.
Everyday life with children can bring with it many hurdles. Parents are often alone when it comes to important questions. In response, the city council has launched related strategies to promote direct exchange between professionals and families. Deputy Mayor Mag.a Elisabeth Mayr emphasizes the role of multi-professional and inclusive support, which benefits children during their development. The “Team MOBIL” will also provide active support with parenting questions and act as a contact point for concerns and complaints. Kindergarten social work is intended to provide support, diagnosis and interventions in difficult family situations, which improves the quality of life of children and families.
Networking and support
A central goal of the project is to network with existing support services, such as family assistance and Caritas. This creates an interface that not only provides help within kindergartens, but also facilitates access to other support offers. This could lead to the overload of elementary education in municipal facilities being reduced and the working conditions of the specialists being improved. Through this close cooperation, help can be provided in a targeted and target group-oriented manner.
The city senate meeting has already set the course by commissioning the Office for Children, Youth and Generations to implement the “TEAM MOBIL for children” concept in educational institutions. This will take place in a three-year test phase, which will ultimately be presented to the local council for a final vote in November.
