Ötztaler water: a book full of moments and multisensoric experiences
In an impressive compilation, the Sölden photographer Ernst Lorenzi presented his latest work, which deals with the water in the Ötztal. After six and a half years of intensive work and extensive research, he published the book "Ötztaler Wasser: vertical", which traces the fascinating paths of streams, rivers and waterfalls. The presentation took place in Sölden last week.
The book is more than just a collection of beautiful pictures; It is a visual journey through the alpine landscape. Lorenzi captures moments that are constantly changing and invites readers to explore the paths of the water themselves, to hear the sound of the bubbling streams and to feel the fresh high air.
technological innovations
In order to expand the reader's experience, Lorenzi has integrated technical interfaces into his book. These make it possible to watch videos that show the flow of water, as well as music that was composed by trumpeter Franz Hackl for this project. A special attraction is the possibility of "making calls with the Vernagt glacier", which gives the entire concept an extraordinary touch. The book also deals with significant historical events, such as the outbreaks of the Rofener Eissees, and provides insights into the development of the electricity economy in the Ötztal, all with the focus of the importance of water for life in this high mountain region.
"We in the Ötztal are happy people," says Lorenzi about his living environment. The rich nature enables residents to enjoy clean water directly from the mountains and become part of the large natural cycle. This thought runs like a thread through his work and is treated in many facets.
an imposing work
The book has a weight of three kilograms and comprises almost 400 pages. It is a reading book, photo book, video book and music book in one and was divided into 18 chapters and seven photo series. The impressive, three-dimensional cover design comes from the artist Hannah Philomena Scheiber from Gurgl and stands out through his creative approach from conventional book covers. The work can be purchased for € 87; Orders are possible at lorenzi@soelden.at.
A special highlight of the book presentation will take place on Monday, October 14th at 7:00 p.m. in the Aqua Dome, where Ernst Lorenzi will appear together with the text author Christian Seiler and Hannah Philomena Scheiber. This event is carried out as part of the celebrations for the 20th anniversary of the Tyrol Therme Längenfeld and is a collaboration with Pro Vita Alpina. Lorenzi, who not only works as a photographer, but also recorded his passion for nature in this impressive book, shows how diverse and significant the element of water in the Ötztal is.
