The 25-year-old Tyrolean showed an impressive performance in the tournament, which was endowed with around one million euros, and played a 67 on the Par-70 Square of the Houghton Golf Club in the first two rounds. He is 14th with a total of 6 under par at half -time, which makes him well positioned for the weekend, while his compatriot Matthias Schwab clearly missed the cut with a disappointing 116th place, as the krone reported.

The Joburg Open is also the end of the DP World Tour this year and are therefore of particular importance in the Golf calendars. While Steinlechner was impressed, other players such as Nicolai von Dellingshausen, who is on the shared third place with a strong 64 round, also caused a stir. In the leadership position there are Wenyi Ding and Jordan Smith, both of whom completed a bogey-free round with 63 strokes (-7). The first results make it clear that the tournament remains exciting, and everyone involved looks at the upcoming rounds to secure a place among the best golfers, such as held.

While Steinlechner has established itself in the front midfield, Marcel Siem and Freddy Schott are on T73 with a round of Even Par (70). Both players fight for a better position, while Joel Girrbach and Schwab stand in the 127th place with 73 strokes (+3) and urgently need strong rounds to be qualified for the weekend. The challenges are great, the pressure is increasing, and players have to give everything to stay in competition.
