Tradition and enjoyment: record attendance at the bock beer tapping at the Bauer factory band

On Sunday, November 10, 2024, a record-breaking bock beer tapping by the Bauer factory band took place in the Voitsberg town halls. The event attracted a considerable number of guests from the region and abroad, all of whom were looking forward to the popular Puntigamer Bock, which was enjoyed to the fullest. There was great anticipation for the event, and it was the first time that the town hall was so well attended.

The chairman of the factory band, Franz Sachernegg, welcomed those present to the sold-out hall. Among the guests were prominent personalities such as the Deputy Governor Anton Lang and the 3rd President of the State Parliament, DI Gerald Deutschmann. Mayor Bernd Osprian and his deputies Kurt Christof and Manfred Prettenthaler also did not miss the celebrations.

Guests of honor and musical accompaniment

In addition to numerous local councilors and the twin town of Lesnica, the guests of honor included the president of the Bauer company, DI Otto Roiss, and representatives of the Brauunion. The musical entertainment was accompanied by the Bauer factory band, the Hödlgrube-Zangtal mountain band and the Zangtaler Quintet, which created a festive atmosphere.

The traditional tapping was carried out by President DI Otto Roiss together with Mayor Osprian, and the team of guests of honor helped pour the delicious beer together. As a special highlight, long-standing members of the factory band and the mountain band were honored for their services, which was greeted with great applause by the guests.

In addition to the free beer from Puntigamer, various cheese specialties from Berglandmilch and warm dishes from the Stadtsäle kitchen offered the guests a culinary delight. A raffle took place during the festival, with a diamond ring and many other prizes waiting for the winners. The “lucky angel” Alexander chose the lucky ones from a large number of participants.

Organizer Franz Sachernegg warmly thanked the municipality of Voitsberg, the SPÖ women for their support and all sponsors who make this tradition possible. The performance of the Zangtaler Quintet was another musical highlight of the day, which entertained the visitors until the later hours. Everyone present is looking forward to a repeat of this event in 2025.
