Two athletes caused a sensation during the qualification: Hanna Karrer from Gleisdorf, which was only 16-year-old, made fourth place. Her compatriot Anna Gasser wanted to take the leap on the podium, but for the two -time Olympic champion it was only enough for fifth place. Gasser, who was able to celebrate a home win at an earlier event at Kreischberg, admitted after the competition: "If I had been the last jump, I would have been on the podium." Despite the disappointment over fifth place, the 33-year-old beamed: "The mood was so mega, and I'm just happy that I was allowed to jump in with such a backdrop," she said with joy about the experience.

Clemens Millauer also showed his class in competition, while Matej Svancer joined the best athletes in Klagenfurt. The event, which will continue on Friday with the Freeski competitions and on Saturday with the snowboard competitions, attract numerous spectators and sports enthusiasts, which underlines the attractiveness of the Kreischberg. "The long -term effect of such events is enormous. We are internationally in the display," Fussi concluded, which illustrates the importance of the competition for the Murau region.
