City Run Trofaiach: A celebration of young running talent and championships
The City Run Trofaiach on Saturday in Upper Styria once again attracted running enthusiasts from the region and beyond. With around 200 participants, the event was a complete success and was the culmination of two important running cups: the Team Styria Road Running Cup and the ZOD Track & Trail Running Cup. Not only were the best in the U10 to U16 age groups honored, but the Styrian road running championship was also held for the U12, U14 and U16 age groups.
The organization was in the trusted hands of Edi Lieber and Richard Nudl, who, together with the Trofaiach city administration, under the leadership of Mayor Mario Abl, and the team of teachers from the sports middle school, led by Jürgen Pansi, ensured that everything ran smoothly.
Results of the Styrian Championships
The championships had a special charm due to the outstanding performances of the young athletes and offered spectators exciting competitions. The winners of the Styrian Championship are:
- U12: Elias Feyel vom Athletik Club Murtal und Elise Grabmüller von LTU Graz
- U14: Nico Lieber vom PSV Leoben und Enna Hadzovic vom ATUS Gratkorn
- U16: Christoph Müller vom PSV Leoben und Anna Molling vom Running Team Lannach
The ZOD Track & Trail Running Cup also included children and young people who were crowned cup winners in their age groups. Particularly noteworthy is the strong presence of PSV Leoben, who, in addition to individual starters, also competed with teams in different age groups and went home with several medals. An impressive result with four gold, one silver and one bronze medals speaks for the outstanding performance of the athletes.
The championship placings for PSV Leoben were as follows:
- Gold Einzel: Nico Lieber (MU 14), Christoph Müller (MU16)
- Gold Team: Anelia Ivanova, Elisabeth König, Lora Todorova (WU12)
- Gold Team: David Sirakov, Tobias Mossauer, Christian Nikolov (MU12)
- Silber Einzel: Luca Jeremie (MU14)
- Bronze Einzel: David Sirakov (MU12)
