Medmobil 1450: New 24-hour service for Styrian health

As part of the continuous improvement of health care in Styria, a new pilot project was launched, which bears the name Medmobil 1450. This innovative offer was developed to optimize medical support during the subsequent hours. The health telephone 1450, which has been active around the clock since 2019, now has a significant addition. The first implementations in three major regions, including the Leibnitz/Wildon region, have been in operation since October 2024.

The initiative was presented by various representatives of the country, including Health Councilor Karlheinz Kornhäusl and club chairman Hannes Schwarz. "No matter where someone lives, health care must not make a difference," explains Kornhäusl, who emphasizes the creation of a nationwide offer for the population. The accessibility of medical help is thus also ensured in the late hours.

a comprehensive range of health

The health telephone 1450 now offers a wide range. Diplomated health and nursing staff are in action who not only carry out telephone consultations, but also make the fastest contact with doctors on duty. One goal is that if necessary, a standby doctor will come home to the patient as soon as possible.

The new Service Medmobil 1450 appears as an additional visiting service. This is initially offered in the South (Leibnitz/Wildon), North (Kindberg/Bruck) and East (Weiz/Gleisdorf) for six months. The standby regions in which this offer is available include various communities, such as Arnfels and Ehrenhausen on the Weinstraße in Leibnitz as well as All Saints at Wildon and DoBl-Zwaring.

"We send a clear sign of a health care that is close to the citizen with the Medmobil 1450 - Styria," says Hannes Schwarz. The focus of this project is on the quick accessibility of medical help, regardless of the time of day. In the second quarter of 2024, the health telephone 1450 accepted around 20,000 calls, with the average withdrawal period being only 14 seconds.

The health telephone offers many services, including information on open pharmacies, medical on -call duty and visa doctors, provided the caller needs this. In addition, there is now also the option of reaching a pediatrician on the phone if necessary, especially on weekends.

For those who need medical support outside of regular office hours, Medmobil 1450 offers a valuable service. It shows that health care in Styria is not only flexible, but also adaptable in order to meet the needs of citizens. The implementation of measures to strengthen trust in the health system will continue to be the focus to ensure the best possible support.
