Faschingsgilde Straß celebrates 25 years: President Schwimmer honored!

In the South Styrian community of Straß, the carnival guild celebrated its 25th anniversary and at the same time opened the fifth season. The ceremonial event took place in the Gasthof Sauer, where numerous personalities from the region came together to appreciate this special celebration.

After a festive enthronement, the new couple Julia Ritter and Johannes Klapsch took responsibility for the carnival season. An essential part of the celebrations were the honors for members who made themselves particularly well deserved in the Faschingsgilde Straß (SFG).

honors for long -term members

The guild honored some of its long -standing members with the "22 Spange", which is awarded for more than 22 years of commitment to Mardi Gras, Austria. The honored include names such as Reinhold Höflechner, Johann Quitt, Johann Rauscher, Werner Scheucher and Franz Tscherner. These awards reflect the longstanding commitment and loyalty to the traditions of carnival.

For their 25-year membership in the SFG, the founding members received honor badges in gold. Among these are well -known names, such as Gunda Maderthoner and Harald Prutsch, which have contributed significantly to the development and success of the guild.

The highlight of the celebrations was the honor of President Helmut Schwimmer. The market town of Straß awarded him a certificate of honor, and he also received the first honorary ring of the SFG, which was awarded on the occasion of his 20th anniversary and 10 years as president. This is a sign of respect and appreciation that swimmers for his tireless work and his commitment to the guild.

The event attracted many guests of honor, including NABG. Joachim Schnabel, district captain Manfred Walch and Mayor Johann Lappi, who all celebrated this significant moment together with the members of the guild.

In the coming weeks, the carnival guild will be intensively rehearsing for the 25th Strasser carnival sessions. Under the motto "A Schlager - 25 Years of SFG", the members are already busy organizing an entertaining program that is supposed to attract many visitors. The premiere is scheduled for January 31, 2025.
