Andreas-Hofer-Platz, 8010 Graz, Österreich - A 60-year-old man was victim to a brutal attack in the city center of Graz while he went home with his wife after the academic ball. Like 5 minutes , the attack took place around 3 o'clock at Andreas-Hofer-Platz when it was attacked by two unknown perpetrators from behind. The injuries to the man's upper body are the result of the attack, which is currently being examined by the police. The first investigations indicate that it could be a severe robbery, while so far there are no further indications of the identity of the attackers.
In the meantime, a 59-year-old man was arrested in the Liezen district because he was under urgent suspicion of having seriously injured a 35-year-old Slovenin in her apartment. According to Kleine Zeitung there was a tangible argument between the two in the night on Saturday, which ended in massive violence. The woman only filed a report on Sunday afternoon after reporting a report at Graz Central Station. The suspect 59-year-old was already on the run at the time. But the police finally arrested him on Monday evening at a train station nearby thanks to cross -border cooperation. He is accused of attempted murder and was admitted to the Graz Jakomini prison. Investigations into the endings are still ongoing.The two incidents throw a dark light on safety in the region and have put the police on increased willingness to alert. The search for possible perpetrators from the attack on the academic ball remains a central concern of the investigating authorities in order to prevent further acts of violence and to ensure the security of the citizens.
