Serious collision in Unterentfelden: truck crashes into train!

A serious collision between a truck and a Wynental-Suhrental-Bahn train occurred in Unterentfelden, Switzerland, on Tuesday morning, March 4, 2025. At 10.45 a.m., as the train was traveling from Schöftland towards Aarau, the truck driver wanted to cross the railway tracks. During this crossing there was a side-front collision in which the driver's cab of the truck was torn off and remained on the road. The 32-year-old driver was injured and had to be rescued from his cab by first responders before he could be taken to hospital with moderate injuries. Fortunately, the train driver and passengers remained uninjured, reported Fireworld.

The Aargau cantonal police have started investigating the exact cause of the accident. Due to the incident, the Unterentfeld village center was largely closed for several hours. Firefighters set up a diversion to keep traffic flowing. Meanwhile, train services between Aarau and Muhen were temporarily suspended and replacement buses were used to transport passengers. The truck, which was badly damaged, is also the subject of the investigation, which continued in the afternoon, as the Aargauer Zeitung reported.
