Shock collision in Liezen: Four injured after crash on B146!
In the Reithtal, more precisely in the Liezen district, a dramatic traffic accident occurred on the evening of December 2nd, 2024, in which four people were injured to an unspecified degree. According to information from meinkreis.at, there was a collision between two cars on the B146 Gesäusestraße, near the motorway entrance to the A9, around 5:30 p.m. An 18-year-old Upper Austrian may have disregarded the oncoming car of a 43-year-old from the Liezen district when turning, which led to a head-on collision.
The injured, including the 18-year-old, his 21-year-old passenger and two passengers in the other vehicle, were immediately taken by rescue to the LKH Rottenmann. Fortunately, the breathalyzer test was negative for both drivers. The accident vehicles had to be recovered by a towing company, which led to a temporary closure of the B146 and the entrance and exit to the A9, which lasted for around an hour. During this time reported oeamtc.at of significant traffic volumes and delays in the region.
The authorities are now investigating to clarify the exact circumstances of the accident. Such incidents highlight the importance of road safety, particularly at busy intersections and highway entrances.
