Shock in the Europapark: Baby corpse discovered in shopping bags!
In the Klagenfurt Europapark, the body of a male baby was discovered on Saturday morning. The shocking find, which was made in a bush in a shopping bag, led to an enforcing large -scale operation by the police. The first assumptions were that it was bone trading that needed an examination. In the evening, however, a police spokesman confirmed that the remains found were actually a baby's body. According to initial assessments, the body could have been in the bushes for several weeks.
The age of the baby is currently still unclear. However, the police investigate the suspicion of killing a child at birth, as is intended in paragraph 79 of the Criminal Code, but not because of murder. At the same time, the search for the baby's mother is in full swing in order to advance further investigations. Investigators and search dogs were on site to find out more about the case. The incident has hit high waves and causes a lot of excitement and dismay in the region.
background to child killings
According to the research network of the Technical University of Dortmund, the number of children under the age of 15, which have come to death through assault aggression, has dropped by almost two thirds in the past 30 years. In 2022, 25 deaths in children under the age of 15 were registered in Germany, compared to 74 such cases in 1996. It is particularly noticeable that infants and toddlers are the main victims of child killings; Many of them have not yet completed the first year of life.
In 2022 there were 11 infants killed, which represents an increase by five cases compared to the previous year. The police crime statistics (PKS) for the same year shows 146 children under the age of 14 as victims of killing offenses, 114 of them under 6 years. These statistics illustrate the extent of child killings in society and show that there is not only isolated cases, but also a lasting problem. The PKS comprises murder, homicide, negligent killing and assault with death and is created after the end of the police investigation.
The sad reality of such incidents illustrates the need for preventive measures and support systems to help affected families and in particular the weakest in society.
More information on the background of the current investigations and the psychological aspects of child killings can be found in the reports of Exxpress.at kaernten.orf.at and ifh.forschungsbund.de .
