A tragic accident cast a shadow over the Affenweng ski area. A 42-year-old athlete who started at Bischling fell into impassable terrain for reasons that are still unclear. The incident was only discovered on Thursday when a work colleague noticed his absence and reported him missing ORF Salzburg reported. Despite an initial search flight with a thermal imaging camera, the efforts were unsuccessful. Only the mountain rescue team and the Alpine police were able to locate the missing person in the steep terrain.
