"The Salzburg craft price is one of the most renowned economic prizes in the country and shows how creative and innovative our companies are," said Mikl in a press conference. The submissions for the price were diverse and ranged from elaborate new buildings to innovative products and traditional crafts.

positive developments for the championship title

Another current focus is on the upgrading of the championship title. He has achieved academic bachelor status since 2019 and can now be officially managed in documents. This equality is part of the efforts to strengthen vocational qualifications in the craft and attract more young people in these areas. Mikl notes that the upgrading of the master qualification is particularly important to promote the recognition of vocational training.

On the occasion of the master's certificate on October 12th, remarkable 432 master letters were awarded to 410 new masters in Salzburg. This shows that interest in manual training and the values of the master qualifications are increasingly valued. Mikl was pleased with this climb because he indicates the importance of the master exams.

  • First place: Heigl GmbH for the roof and facade work at the "Energy crystal mountain station" on the Dachstein. These demanding work took place at an altitude of 2,700 meters, where 4,600 square meters of roof and facade elements were installed.
  • second place: Richard Kappeller GmbH for their artistic tranchier knife "Epoch trip", which reflects the various styles of past epochs in its engravings.
  • third place: pagitsch GmbH from Tamsweg for the drywall work in the wellness hotel Krallerhof, which particularly stands out by using native linden wood and the challenge of short construction times.

In addition, three recognition prices for remarkable projects were awarded. This included the carpentry Johannes Seidl with an innovative piece of furniture that combines sleep and work areas. Another prize went to Stockinger & Reinthaler Bau GmbH for the careful renovation of a historic building in Salzburg. Finally, the instrument maker Tobias Falkner received recognition for his handmade bass trumpet, which impresses with their sound quality.

In the middle of these achievements, however, the economic situation of the commercial and craft businesses in Salzburg remains tense. According to current surveys, the majority of companies report a poor business situation. The reason for this is declines in sales and order inputs, which are increased by increasing sales prices. Mikl appeals to politics to initiate rapid measures for de -bureaucratization to help the industry.

The current developments related to the awarding of the "Salzburg Crafts Prize" and the ever increasing challenges for the craft show how important the continuous support and upgrading of this tradition is for the future of Salzburg.
