Two new fire engines for Bischofshofen: a win for everyone!

Bischofshofen particularly stood out this year because the city received two new fire engines. One of these is a state-of-the-art fire engine that was purchased for the volunteer fire department. The second vehicle, on the other hand, is intended for the little citizens and provides great fun in the leisure area.

The new fire engine replaces an older fire engine that dates back to 1991. This impressive new vehicle has 320 horsepower and a 3,000 liter water tank, making it a powerful partner in the field. The vehicle is also equipped with a water cannon, a winch with a pulling force of five tons and seven seats with compressed air breathing apparatus. The members of the volunteer fire department were enthusiastic about their new first responder, which is now officially in service after two and a half years of planning.

A toy for the little ones

But it's not just the rescuers in need who get their money's worth. The children can also look forward to a special novelty: a large toy fire engine in the Bischofshofen leisure area makes children's hearts beat faster. Although it is not equipped with the technical sophistication of a firefighting vehicle, it offers numerous opportunities for little visitors to let off steam. The play equipment includes an adjoining climbing tower, which is ideal for both climbing and balancing.

Mayor Hansjörg Obinger expressed his enthusiasm about the purchase of the play equipment and can well imagine from his own childhood memories how much fun the children have playing in a “real” fire engine and taking on the role of a hero.

Overall, the purchase of these two fire engines shows that Bischofshofen pays attention to both the needs of its fire department and the wishes of the younger generation. A successful combination that ensures both safety and joy.
