Fernando leaves Salzburg: bad luck will stop his adventure

The Brazilian football striker Fernando has left Red Bull Salzburg and is moving to RB Bragantino to the Brazilian series A. This was officially announced on Sunday. Fernando, who had repeatedly struggled with injuries since his arrival in Salzburg in the summer of 2022, only played 27 games during this time, in which he scored considerable twelve goals and eight assists, as OE24 reported.

After a three-year stay in Salzburg, which was partly shaped by health setbacks, the 25-year-old is now returning to his homeland. It was reported that Fernando was included in the contract of around two million euros, together with a participation in resort if he created the sporting breakthrough after his change, such as Krone . Salzburg's managing director Rouven Schröder had already indicated in December that a change was possible, and the now confirmed end of the collaboration is not entirely unexpected.

Fernando, who was enthusiastic about its impressive speed and technology at the beginning, was never constantly convincing due to his susceptibility to injury. Although the fans were fascinated by the talented player, his own body often prevented him from developing the full potential on the pitch. These challenges now led to a change that is considered sensible for both parties - Fernando returns to where his football life began, while Salzburg opened up new perspectives.
