On June 17, 2025, Rockwell Automation, Inc. introduced PointMax™ I/O, a flexible distributed input/output (I/O) system designed to help manufacturers address the growing complexity of modern industrial operations. In view of dynamic and networked manufacturing environments that require a high degree of adaptability, the company is ideally equipped to meet the challenges of Industry 4.0 with this new product. The modules are modularly adaptable in an I/O rack and can support a total of up to 32 modules. The system is also designed for operating temperatures from -25 to +60°C, with special XT variants suitable for even the harshest conditions.

With a uniform design that supports common tags and data structures across the 5000 I/O architecture, as well as Near-Field Communication (NFC) for IP configuration, efficient commissioning and maintenance is guaranteed. The modules therefore not only offer adaptability, but also a significant reduction in downtime due to the possibility of changing modules while live.
