The legally defined criteria for recognition as heavy work include not only physical stress, but also psychological and social stress, which often occur in everyday care. These objectified criteria are intended to ensure that the considerable challenges of nursing professions are duly recognized. ÖVP club chairman August Wöginger emphasizes respect and appreciation for nurses and emphasizes the need to create incentives for more staff in order to cover the increasing need by 2030.
Following the demographic change, it is predicted that around 75,700 additional full-time nursing staff will be needed by 2030. The federal government has undertaken to implement this industry reform quickly and consistently. Ingrid Korosec, President of the Austrian Senior Citizens' Association, also expressed a positive statement about the new measures that are understood as a social signal to improve working conditions in care.prerequisites for the heavy work pension
