Set orange characters: Soroptimists call for an end to violence
Rohrbach-Berg. Every November in November, the “Orange The World” campaign is a strong sign against violence to women. This year, the Rohrbacher Soroptimists will draw attention to this important topic at the weekly market on November 23. In the shimmering color orange, they symbolize the fight against any kind of violence.
It is a dark fact that violence against women is also a sad reality in Austria. By the end of October, the police have already registered 24 female female and 38 acts of violence against women and girls classified as attempts at murder. The reality of domestic violence often remains hidden. Gabriele Revertera, the President of the Club of Soroptimist Rohrbacher Land, comments and explains: "Violence has many faces - physically, mentally or digital violence and cyberbullying. Unfortunately, many women and girls get into this spiral of violence." On this day, the Soroptimists want to convey the message that you should not look away, but have to actively listen, act and report.
