Opening of the Blümeli self -service shop in St. Georgen

The self -service shop "Blümeli" will be opened tomorrow, on November 22nd in St. Georgen near Grieskirchen. This new shop will be found in Obersteinbach 8 and offers a delicious selection of flower sticks and cut flowers that are available seasonally. All interested parties are invited to celebrate the day with punch and cookies.

The idea for this self-service shop came about during the Corona pandemic and was now realized by Melanie Kampl, a trained florist, together with two neighbors. In addition to beautiful flowers, the shop also leads creative gifts that are offered by the neighbors: wood decoration from "Hoizgspü" and individually designed bags and candles from "Glücksmoment". Whenever possible, the flowers come from the region, whereby in the cold season also has to be used for German and Dutch sources.

opening times and future prospects

The redesigned self -service shop has an area of 2.5 x 3 meters and was artistically painted by the St. Georgenerin Gabi Raab. The opening times are from Monday to Friday from 6 a.m. to 9 p.m. and Saturdays from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. "I hope that the shop will be well received. Perhaps there is the possibility to operate a larger container shop in the future," says Kampl optimistically.

It sees the longer opening times as an advantage over the small flower shops. These opening times should offer customers the flexibility that they want, especially in times when retail is increasingly receiving competition from larger supermarket chains.

The amaryllis as a winter favorite

A personal favorite of Kampl in winter is the amaryllis. "This plant is just perfect for the Christmas season: it has a wonderful bloom, looks great and does not need a lot of care. So you don't have to worry that you have to water it all the time," she explains enthusiastically.

Let's see how "Blümeli" will develop in the community. The opening ceremony offers an excellent opportunity for the residents of St. Georgen to familiarize themselves with the creative offers in the region. The initiative of offering local products and handmade gifts could attract numerous flower lovers and gifts.
