FH Upper Austria Campus Steyr: New Bachelor in international logistics management
From autumn 2025, the FH Upper Austria Campus Steyr will expand its range of courses by now also offering the bachelor's degree in "International Logistics Management" in English. This supplement enables students from all over the world to be registered in Steyr, one of the leading logistics locations in Austria. Through this measure, the University of Applied Sciences wants to attract international talents and at the same time promote the training of new specialists for the domestic economy.
Oliver Schauer, the head of the course, emphasizes that the ability to communicate in different languages is essential in the global economic market. "Thanks to the possibility of completing your studies in German and in English, we prepare our graduates perfectly for the challenges of international careers," says Schauer. So far, the course has only been offered in German, but the new international orientation ensures that the Steyr campus will be accessible to a wider audience.
First dual language course of study
Dean Heimo Losbichler explains that the introduction of the English -language program is an important step for the FH Upper Austria Campus Steyr. "International logistics management is the first study at our university of applied sciences, which is offered in both languages and makes it easier for both domestic and international students to gain access to high-quality education," he explains. This opens up additional space for the personal and professional development of the students and makes the course more attractive.
It should be emphasized that the course has no differences in content between the two language versions. The main difference only lies in the language of instruction, which makes it easier for other international students to participate.
a degree for the international community
Schauer also points out that the English -language offer enables students without knowledge of German to start studying in Steyr. These students have the opportunity to learn the German language during their studies and then continue their studies in the national language. As a result, they are well prepared for demanding professions in logistics within Austria. "We create an attractive environment for students from all over the world and at the same time strengthen the local economy through the training of urgently needed specialists," adds Schauer.
The full -time course comprises a total of eight semesters. In the first four semesters, the lessons are mainly offered in English, including a mandatory semester abroad. After staying abroad, there is an internship semester that aims to gain practical experience in the logistics industry. The remaining semesters are then completed in German, which helps the students receive comprehensive training. For students who want to study part -time, the offer continues in German over six semesters.
