Volunteer fire brigade in Zwettl: Successfully eliminated the consequences of flooding in the pool
In the Zwettl region (Lower Austria), the flood damage from September continues to keep emergency services on their toes. The Zwettl-Bad was particularly affected, as it was significantly affected by the floods. On November 20th and 21st, 2024, the members of the Zwettl-Stadt volunteer fire department were committed and supported the pool employees with the urgently needed cleaning of the outdoor pools.
The heavy rains had made the outdoor pools significantly muddy and dirty. The high groundwater situation meant that pumping out the water was only possible at a later date. Only when conditions permitted could the firefighters get to work.
Intensive cleaning work
A total of six fire brigade members worked for over 50 hours to clear the pools of mud and dirt. These actions not only helped to bring the facility back to a usable condition, but they also represent an important contribution to supporting the municipality of Zwettl-NÖ.
The ongoing cleanup work is evidence of the commitment of the volunteer fire departments in the region. Through their tireless efforts, they show how important community work and quick reactions are in crisis situations. Cleaning the outdoor pools is a step towards restoring leisure activities in the city as quickly as possible and enabling citizens to use the facilities safely.
