A 69-year-old man was injured by a rolling rootstock around 1:45 p.m. The incident happened after he felled a tree. While he was trying to retreat from the danger area, the rootstock suddenly came loose and hit him in the leg area. Despite the injury, the man was able to drive home independently and alert the emergency services Volksblatt reported.

Emergency care was promptly initiated at the scene of the accident. The seriously injured forestry worker was then transported to the nearest hospital in the “Europe 3” rescue helicopter, which speaks for the rapid action of the rescue workers.
