One of the most famous events is Bratwürstelsonntag, which takes place on December 1st. The popular Austrian dish is served in the Rudolf-Wimmer-Halle from 10 a.m. Not only sausages, but also coffee, cake and home-baked cookies are on the menu. This tradition, which has existed for almost 200 years, is carried out by the Gold Hood and Headscarf group and delights numerous visitors every year.
Special pre-Christmas activities
In addition, the Altheim Motor Veterans Club (MVC) opens its doors on three evenings. On December 4th, 11th and 18th they invite you to a mulled wine stand in the vintage car garage from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. Here, guests can not only enjoy culinary delicacies, but also support a good cause as part of the proceeds are donated.
The Christmas market takes place from December 6th to 8th and offers a varied supporting program. Visitors can look forward to handicrafts, a visit from Santa Claus and an atmospheric torchlight procession. The Blackburn People's Choir from England, among others, will provide musical accompaniment and bring Christmas sounds to the city. The net proceeds from this event will benefit the MS Regional Club Innviertel.
Another Christmas market will take place on December 15th from 2 p.m. at the innkeeper in Stern. Here, guests can expect a similar offering with culinary delicacies and handmade works of art that invite you to browse.
