In a remarkable competition, 17-year-old Raphael Poik from Ansfelden achieved an impressive third place in the cuisine category at this year's Junior Skills Contest, which focuses on Upper Austrian tourism. As an apprentice at the Herzstück Haid catering company (ARW Gastro GmbH), he demonstrated his talent and asserted himself in an environment filled with strong competitors.
The event took place at WIFI Linz, where almost 40 apprentices from various areas such as kitchen, service and reception competed. These competitions are not only a platform to showcase the skills of the next generation in the tourism sector, but also a valuable opportunity for participants to showcase their skills.
