Future of apprenticeship training: Energie AG is investing in Gmunden

in Gmunden, Energie AG plans to extensively expand and modernize its training workshop and the associated apprenticeship home. This decision was announced by CEO Leonhard Schitter during a press conference. The measure is taken to meet the increasing need for qualified staff.

"Our apprenticeship training is very important," said Schitter. With the expansion, the company would like to offer the young specialists a modern environment that supports both learning and life. The goal is to optimally prepare the trainees for their future professions.

active participation by apprentices

To ensure that the new institutions meet the needs of the young generation, some of the apprentices are included in the planning processes. Your ideas and wishes are integrated directly into the project to promote creative and innovative environment.

special attention is also on the sustainable construction. Environmentally friendly technologies and materials are used in the construction of the new apprentice dormitory, which is expanded from 30 to 50 beds. A photovoltaic system is installed on the roof and the entire project will strive for climate-active gold certification.

The start of construction is planned for the summer of 2025, the completion for autumn 2027. In total, Energie AG invests around twelve million euros in this initiative, which aims to train more than 430 new specialists by 2035. This means that a third of the future personnel requirements are covered by your own training.

There are currently 101 apprentices in training at Energie AG, including seven girls. Around 1,500 apprentices have been trained in Gmunden since 1943, many of them have continued their professional career in the company. "We are proud to promote talented young people and to offer them space for their ideas and creativity," emphasized Matthias Pesendorfer, head of the textbook.

In addition, Building Information Modeling (BIM) is used to plan and implement the new building, which enables precise digital planning and makes the construction process more efficient. This innovative method ensures that precisely 3D scans are created in various construction phases and any problems can be recognized and remedied early.
