Freedom in Upper Austria: Survey shows dramatic election victory!
A current survey by the "Upper Austrian News", which was carried out by the Spectra market research institute, shows drastic changes in the political landscape of Upper Austria. In the election forecast, the freedom (FPÖ) cut off as much than ever and could be the first force in the country with a whopping 31 percent, while the People's Party (ÖVP) slips to 22 percent. This means a massive loss for the ÖVP, which still won 37.61 percent of the vote in the 2021 election. At that time, the FPÖ landed in second place with only 19.77 percent, behind the stagnant SPÖ, which won 18.58 percent.
In the new survey, the ÖVP is not only on the descending branch, but also has to take second place with the SPÖ, which also comes to 22 percent, as Statista . These surveys reflect the trend, which can also be shown in the latest elections in the country where the FPÖ was able to win the voters of voters in many regions, often also as an expression of the protest against the ban in government formation in the federal government. Spectra boss Stephan Duttenhöfer reduces this switching of the votes of the FPÖ to the weak performance of the ÖVP, which fails to communicate clear differences to the federal political decisions.
politics in upheaval
The renewed survey of the FPÖ could have far -reaching consequences for the upcoming state elections that will be due in 2027. The FPÖ is strengthened by the positive numbers and confidently encourages a new political phase, while the ÖVP has to adapt to critical internal and external challenges in order to regain their influence. This change of mood could have a decisive influence on the structure of the state government in Upper Austria, since the balance of power is significantly shifted.
