Braunau celebrates sustainable fashion: The Fair Wear Night enthuses!
A remarkable event that beats the bridge between fashion, culture and social responsibility took place on April 18, 2024 in Braunau am Inn. The "Fair Wear Night", organized by students: inside of the high school and the HLW and HTL Braunau, attracted over 500 guests. This event was with the Upper Austria. State Prize for the Environment and Sustainability Awarded and brought the topics of sustainable fashion and social commitment to a creative stage.
Fashion show was presented fairly produced clothing and accessories. A highlight was the close cooperation with the Eferdinger fashion label "Fairytale Fashion", which is known for his partnership with small companies in Nepal. The event proved how education and creative commitment can go hand in hand to promote sustainable practices.

The "Fair Wear Night" not only offered stylish fashion, but also a varied cultural program. Students: Inside the high school, the audience delighted the audience with dances and music that supported the topic of fair trade. The balanced culinary selection, led by a buffet with Nepalese specialties such as lens-dal and Naan bread, rounded off the experience. This combination of fashion and culture underlined the importance of fair trade in a vivid way.
But the event was still in a deeper meaning. With the money collected of around 2,300 euros, donations for the “Khan Printing” screen printing company were collected in Kathmandu. This printing company was affected by floods and the funds were used to finance both renovation work and the construction of a protective wall. This ensures additional protection against future disasters and contributes to the stability of the jobs there.
The event not only sharpened the awareness of fair production conditions, but also showed how fashion, music and food can cause positive changes. The “Fair Wear Night” thus sets an inspiring standard for future events that can link education and social responsibility.
