SPÖ Wiener Neustadt: New ways of urban politics until 2025

Yesterday the delegate conference of the SPÖ Wiener Neustadt took place in the Borg under the motto "Now it's about the city". At this important assembly not only the future program was discussed, but also the city party executive.

The mayor and member of the state parliament Rainer Spenger was confirmed as chairman and at the same time officially appointed top candidate for the municipal elections on January 26, 2025. Spenger leads a team of 80 candidates, whose central focus issues are health, security and living. "It is time for change in Wiener Neustadt," said Spenger in his election advertising.

In his speech, the Vice Mayor presented the election goals:

1. increase the turnout.
2. create a trend reversal and strengthen the SPÖ.
3. enable changes in Wiener Neustadt.
4. Again after the elections, take on a constructive role in urban politics.

The guests of honor of the conference included the State Council of Control and SPNÖ chairman Sven Hergovich and GVV President Andreas Kollross. Around 200 delegates and guests had come together for the event.

The official starting sign for the election campaign takes place on January 8, 2025, whereby the SPÖ wants to present positive and future -oriented proposals for the further development of Viennese Neustadt. These are crucial steps to regain the trust of the citizens and to develop a strong voice in the local council.
