Quick help: Fire brigade opens the door in the event of a medical emergency

On Wednesday morning, a medical emergency in Waidhofen/Thaya caused excitement. At 7:41 a.m., the fire brigade was called for an assignment on Johann Haberl-Straße, where there was suspicion of an accident in the house. A group of emergency services quickly got ready, including police officers and paramedics of the Red Cross.

The fire brigade had to break up a cellar door with a special tool in order to enable access for the emergency services. Inside, the residents were passed unconscious in bed. Based on health, immediate medical care was necessary and the patient was taken to the hospital.

use of the aerial ladder

A big obstacle quickly turned out: The tight staircase did not allow the patient to be removed in a conventional way. Therefore, the firefighters decided to use the aerial ladder. They raised the patient in an ambulance through a window on the first floor and then handed him over to the rescue workers of the Red Cross for further medical treatment outdoors outdoors

throughout the operation, Johann Haberl-Straße had to be closed to offer the emergency services enough space. Around 8:30 a.m. the emergency services were finally ready to take their way back.

Such saving measures once again illustrate how important the quick reaction of our fire brigade and the emergency services is. The incident put the emergency services to the test, and thanks to their effective cooperation, a potentially critical situation could be defused.
