Tulln Business Evening: Hard work for a successful future
At this year's business evening held by the city of Tulln in the Danubium, over 200 entrepreneurs gathered to exchange ideas about the economic challenges and perspectives. Mayor Peter Eisenschenk made it clear in his opening speech that the city must work even harder to continue to preserve Tulln's special position. “We have to work even harder so that Tulln is not only special, but also remains special,” he explained to those present.
This statement comes at a time when the city, like many municipalities in Austria, is confronted with significantly declining income from financial equalization. Nevertheless, Tulln shows a solid economic basis with an unemployment rate that is below the average level in Lower Austria and an above-average number of start-ups.
Tulln as an attractive business location
City Councilor for Economic Affairs Lucas Sobotka insisted on emphasizing the city's strengths. Around 2,000 new jobs have been created over the last ten years. “We now offer 13,500 jobs in Tulln,” he said optimistically. There is an impressive diversity among the numerous companies based in the city - from commercial to industrial to inner-city commerce.
Tulln's economic success is also supported by its number one position as a garden city and by its expansion as a research location. The lively city center and modern commercial areas increase the attractiveness for investors and companies. “The 2,091 municipalities in Austria are our market in which we want to be among the best,” added Eisenschenk.
The city is investing in numerous projects in order to remain in the top economic position. These include Nibelungenplatz and other urban development measures that not only benefit residents but also attract visitors.
Address economic challenges
Franz Schellhorn from Agenda Austria emphasized in his keynote that Tulln operates differently in some respects compared to other communities. He provided a detailed analysis of the Austrian economy and found that the country has some serious problems, including the lowest economic growth in Old Europe and the highest wage and energy costs in the world.
His “Plan A”, which includes five main strategies, is intended to help the Austrian economy find its way out of the crisis. These include, among other things, a reduction in government spending, the aim of tax relief for full-time employees and the deregulation of legal requirements in order to give companies more freedom.
Looking back at the event shows that those responsible are aware of the challenges and are actively seeking solutions to further strengthen Tulln as an economic location. More information about the topics and content of the evening can be found in a detailed report on www.meinkreis.at to find.
