Huge animal drama in Tulln: 14 dogs and 4 cats in mortal danger!

A dramatic animal welfare history developed shortly before Christmas in the Lower Austrian district of Tulln, where a couple held 14 dogs and four cats for years. After the man's death, the woman got into a hopeless situation, overwhelmed with the care of the animals. The association Pfotenhilfe in Lochen reacted to a cry for help and immediately set off with a fully loaded car. The entire extent of the misery was revealed on site: the animals lived in a neglected state in a totally dirty house, while the desperate woman seemed to have lost all control.

immediately came into contact with the Tulln veterinary clinic, since the animals urgently needed medical help. The first rescue campaigns already took place on Wednesday evening: a dog and three cats were brought to a paw aid, where they should be cared for veterinarian. "The completely weakened dog, which we liberated from his misery, is now looking for warmth and security," said the managing director Johanna Stadler, who also reported the sad location of the animals. Another seven dogs, many of them, were housed in an animal shelter, while the authorities searched for suitable solutions for the remaining animals after someone had displayed animal husbandry.

a touch of hope

In parallel to the rescue campaigns, the protégés of the Pfotenhilfe even visited the Nikolaus. Packed with treats, he brought the animals a pre -Christmas joy. At the animal protection courtyard, he presented fresh apples and carrots for the ponies and horses as well as toys and veggie-kauofen for the dogs. Johanna Stadler reported: "Nikolo has a big heart for our animals, and the other farm animals did not get out of his mind."

The call for help and the quick reaction of the paw aid show that despite difficult circumstances, there is still hope for the needy animals. It can only be hoped that the responsible loving care that takes care of the saved animals prevents further such tragedies.
