New kindergarten opened in Vitis: A milestone for toddler care

Last Thursday, a new facility for day care for small children with large celebrations was opened in Vitis. The market town invested around 1.6 million euros in the cultivation of the kindergarten, a project that was realized as part of the childcare offensive in the state of Lower Austria. The expansion includes a new day care facility for children up to two years and up to two groups for children from two years in the existing kindergarten.

With this expansion, a total of seven groups are now available in kindergarten, which significantly increases the company capacity. Architect Rudolf Schwingenschlögl, who was responsible for the planning, emphasized the goal of maximum energy efficiency and emphasized the advantages of the new photovoltaic system and a district heating connection. "Vitis can be proud of his educational campus that creates a unique offer in the region," said Schwingenschlögl.

Successful registration and great demand

The operation of the day care facility is headed by the Lower Austria Association, which now opens its 15th location in Lower Austria with this opening. Katharina Leutner, the head of the association, reported a strong demand, because 12 children are already registered for the new location. Nine of these children have already got used to it well.

For the State Councilor Christiane Teschl-Hofmeister, this project is an example of the successful cooperation between the country and the municipalities. She emphasized that a total of 750 million euros were made available as part of the Lower Austrian childcare offensive to create 600 new kindergarten and 250 day care groups by 2027. "This is an important investment that shows that we take the formation of our youngest seriously," said Teschl-Hofmeister.

In a short ceremony, the new facility was also blessed, with pastor Ryszard Chycki spending the floor. Afterwards, interested visitors were able to visit the new premises as part of an open day.
