Future of animal husbandry: Experts meet in Warth to network
Recently there was an important networking meeting at the Agricultural Technical School (LFS) Warth, which brought together experts in the field of animal husbandry. It was the second event of this kind and served to bring teachers, teachers and consultants from Lower Austria together. Over 20 participants from these disciplines took part in the two -day conference. The meeting was organized by the Agricultural Coordination Center (LAKO) in cooperation with the Lower Austrian Chamber of Agriculture.
"The networking meeting not only served personal contact, but above all had the focus of the technical exchange," explained the organizers, subject teacher Bianca Maron and consultant Johanna Mandl. They emphasized the growing importance of cooperation between school and advice in the field of animal husbandry. In this sector there are always innovative projects that provide practical new knowledge. These should be made accessible to a wide audience.
insights into animal breeding
The technical articles included a presentation by LK department head Andreas Moser, who illuminated current trends in animal breeding. The topic of feeding received special attention, in which Gerald Stögmüller, head of the feeding in Rosenau, presented new recommendations for the energy and nutrient supply of milk cows. He also informed about upcoming innovations in feed analysis and evaluation. Franziska Böhm, employee of the Chamber of Agriculture, addressed the challenges in mother cow husbandry, which are important for many cattle holders.
An exciting aspect of the meeting was the presentation of the research project "Breed4green". This project, presented by department head Hans Rigler, focuses on an environmentally friendly cattle husbandry that aims to collect valuable data on feed and energy efficiency and to reduce greenhouse gas emissions. The Lower Austria beekeeping school Warth was also presented, which is devoted to the production of organic honey.
excursions to regional companies
The program of the meeting also included interesting excursions. The participants visited the BioHof Kleinrath in Bromberg, where various products such as organic cowhide and organic chicken bed are sold. Another important support was the village shop in Lichtenegg, which offers regional products in self -service and contributes to added value in the region.
In this way, the networking meeting not only consolidated existing contacts, but also offered valuable information and insights that are important for the development of animal husbandry in Lower Austria. The organizers are already planning to consider another meeting for the coming year.
