Over 10,000 euros loss: knockout drop robbery in the district of Neunkirchen

In the district of Neunkirchen, a severe predatory crime occurred, in which a 49-year-old man was victim of knockout drops. The incident happened on the night of November 26th to November 27th, 2024, when the man ordered a prostitute to his home via a internet platform. In the course of the evening, a companion of the woman joined them, and while she consumed alcoholic beverages together, the unimaginable happened.

Probably the prostitute or her companion secretly added a numbing substance to the drink of the 49-year-old, which led to losing awareness. The next morning he woke up in a disoriented state and found that not only his ATM card was missing, but also cash. In addition, over 10,000 euros were withdrawn or transferred from his account.

Investigations and arrests

The investigation was led by the State Criminal Police Office in Lower Austria, Roba. Through basic and comprehensive criminal police measures, the officials were able to identify both a 47-year-old Austrian citizen and a 22-year-old Romanian citizen as accused. As a result, on November 28, 2024 in Neunkirchen, arrest and search orders of the Wiener Neustadt public prosecutor's office were obtained.

When searching for the accused's apartments of the accused, the investigators not only found evidence, but were also able to ensure part of the captured money. The 49-year-old received part of his money back. Despite the evidence, the suspects were not confessed during their interrogations. Due to the severity of the allegations, they were transferred to the Wiener Neustadt prison.

This incident illustrates the recurring risks associated with the consumption of social services, especially in connection with alcohol consumption and the recruitment of accompanying persons online. The investigation has not yet been completed, and it remains to be seen whether further steps against the suspects are initiated.
