An important initiative to modernize street lighting in Saarland is imminent. The state government plans to support the municipalities in conversion to energy -efficient lighting technology, which could bring about a significant saving of energy. The Saarland Energy Minister Jürgen Barke (SPD) emphasized the advantages of this initiative.
