Donation from Rotary Club Melk: Support for animal -assisted pedagogy

At the end of August, a special event took place at the Geyerhof Biowingeut in Oberfucha/Furth. The Rotary Club Melk organized a jazz heurige, whose net proceeds now flow into a sensible initiative.

In a solemn ceremony, the President of the Rotary Club, Rainer Graf, and Andrea Humer handed over the donation to Martina Kotzina, the founder of the Esperanza facility. This institution is committed to animal -assisted pedagogy and offers children a special form of learning and encountering animals, especially horses.

How the donation is used

The donated money of 5,000 euros is used to create a riding planner and a device for maintaining the riding arena. Martina Kotzina explained that the riding arena was particularly hard and that the new device will help to loosen up the soil. This is advantageous for both the children who move there, as well as for the horses who work regularly on this place.

In addition, the donation also acquires accessories for a playful handling of the animals. If there are still money left after these purchases, the Esperanza team is planning a trip to the Wolf Science Center in Ernstbrunn. This excursion could offer the children additional learning and experience opportunities and help to promote understanding of nature.

Thanks to the generous support from the Rotary Club Melk, the work of Esperanza is further strengthened, which not only receives the positive effects of animal -assisted pedagogy in the region, but also expanded.
