Karlsruhe in focus: eight arrests of right -wing extremists in Saxony
In a significant police operation, eight members of a right -wing extremist terrorist organization were arrested in Karlsruhe this morning. This action, which took place on November 5, 2024, is seen as an important step in the fight against extremist groups. The arrests were carried out on the basis of arrest warrants that were issued by an investigative judge at the Federal Court of Justice.
The arrested German citizens, which include Kurt H., Karl K., Kevin M., Hans-Georg P., Kevin R., Jörg S., Jörn S. and Norman T., were arrested in various locations in and around Leipzig as well as in Dresden and Meißen. Jörg S. was even captured in Poland, in Zgorzelec. At the same time, around 20 objects have been searched in several cities to secure evidence in the ongoing investigation.
collaboration of the security authorities
The investigation was carried out in close cooperation with the Federal Criminal Police Office and the Federal Office for the Protection of the Constitution, supported by the Saxon State Criminal Police Office. Over 450 officials of the security forces, including special units, were involved in the searches. Another aspect of the investigation also includes operations in Austria and Poland, where suspects were also identified.
The arrested are suspected of being members of a terrorist organization that operates under the name "Saxon separatists". This militant group, which has been active since November 2020 at the latest, has ideological foundations that include racist, anti -Semitic and partly apocalyptic views. The members intend to obtain violent control over parts of Saxony and possibly also through other East German federal states in order to establish structures in the sense of National Socialism. Her beliefs are based on the idea that Germany is about to "collapse".
The allegations are serious: the organization has made extensive preparations for a violent overthrow of the system since its foundation. These included paramilitary training and the purchase of military equipment such as combat suits, helmets, respiratory protection masks and bulletproof vests.
The people arrested today have been identified as the core members of this group, while others have not yet been caught. The further investigations promise to bring interesting and possibly alarming details about the activities of this extremist association.
The arrested should be presented to the investigative judge in the coming days, where the arrest warrants are read and decided on the order of pre -trial detention.
This is a clear indication that the security authorities of the Federal Republic of Germany will decide against such organizations. The relevance of these arrests cannot be assessed highly enough, since they are at the national level as part of the broader approach to combat extremist and terrorist activities.
